SPF stands for Sun Protection Factor, a gauge that measures the level of UV radiation blocked by sunscreen if the recommended amount has been applied.
UPF stands for Ultraviolet Protection Factor, and is a standard used to measure the effectiveness of sun protective styles. UPF measures the amount of UV radiation that can penetrate the fabric and reach your skin. The maximum UPF rating that can be awarded is UPF50+.
